The rapid growth of the Japanese economy has created a consumer society overwhelmed by vast quantities of manufactured products, resulting in a striking increase in waste materials. Many tough problems have also been emerging; for example, qualitative changes in waste materials make some items difficult to dispose of.
Our company started its iron scrap recycling business in 1960. Since then, we have been devoting all our efforts to recycling and waste-disposal operations. For example, we remove reusable components from bulky waste items, such as automobiles and household electrical appliances, to utilize them as secondhand parts. We have also established a system for recycling as raw materials metal parts (iron, aluminum, copper, and other metals) by crushing and sorting them at the shredder plant.
We pride ourselves on being the only company in Japan to have established a totally integrated system for handling the entire process−from the crushing of products such as automobiles and electric appliances, to producing recycled aluminum alloy.
Today, with the strong demand for a global approach to environmental conservation, recycling and waste disposal are playing ever-more important roles.
We are also working to respond to social demands with respect to the Home Appliance Recycling Law, which came into effect on April 1, 2001.
By exploiting to the full the know-how we have cultivated over many years, Harita Metal Co., Ltd. hopes to make a greater contribution to the prosperity of the region and its people, and to do so from a broader perspective.
