Harita Metal Co.,Ltd. acquired certification of ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental-management systems, at its headquarters on May 29, 2003. After a period of preparation, we started our efforts at environmental conservation in May 2001, building an environmental management system. Working for harmonious coexistence with local communities and the Earth, we will continue to promote our environmental-conservation activities.

Basic Environmental Principle

As a leading company helping to conserve the natural environment, Harita Metal Co.,Ltd. works for harmonious coexistence with local communities and the Earth. We understand the importance of global environmental issues and are intensifying our efforts to conserve the natural environment.

Environmental Policy

Since its establishment over 30 years ago, Harita Metal Co.,Ltd. has engaged in recycling as a core business operation. We pursue a wide range of activities: domestic waste disposal, industrial waste disposal, automobile recycling, and electrical appliance recycling, as well as the destruction and rendering harmless of CFCs and the crushing of fluorescent lights. Making the most of our accumulated recycling technologies, we will actively pursue the following initiatives to help build a sustainable, recycling-based society:

  1. Adopting preventive measures against environmental pollution, as well as abiding by environment-related laws and regulations and fulfilling other requirements;
  2. Recycling and effectively utilizing waste materials, in accordance with the principle of regarding waste materials as resources yet to be recovered;
  3. Pressing ahead with environmental-conservation activities through establishing an environmental management system and setting environmental goals and targets, while conducting periodic review and making continuous improvements; and
  4. Familiarizing all members of the company with this environmental policy and making it available to the public.
